Selling Ireland by the pound - save our heritage!!
Our cultural heritage is once again under attack!!Many of you will be shocked by our front page exclusive this morning in our printed edition.
The Angrytown News™ is alarmed to learn that one of our great national institutions, Budget DIY, may be sold off to a British company as a going concern.
Budget DIY has long been a lynchpin of community part-time employment in disadvantaged™ West Belfast and we see this as yet another attempt by the british establishment to undermine our culture. The company, which started in the early eighties, has long been associated with underpaid, Government subsidised, part-time structured - with no right of union representation - jobs.
Quite why we're running a story like this we don't know. Probably something to do with the fact that sensationalist scare mongering headlines sell papers, even moreso if we tenuously link the headline in some or other fashion to the rape of our cultural identity.
The fact of the matter is that the disadvantged™ people of West Belfast must band together to stop this wholesale pillage of our heritage. Otherwise, potentially, we stand to lose somewhere in the region of about £3000.00 a week from lost advertizing revenue.
In other news; The original first draft of our national anthem, Amhrán na bhFiann, penned in 1907 by Peadar Kearney (who has never advertized in our publication) was sold yesterday at auction for 760,000 euros to an anonymous bidder - who will probably never advertize in our publication either, so fuck him.
